Department Overview
The Immunology and Ambulatory Infusion Center South Waterfront assures safe and efficient infusion therapy services. Our goal is to balance individual clinical and psychosocial patient/family needs with the efficient and cost effective utilization of resources while promoting quality outcomes.
Department/Division Specific Working Conditions
The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for operational, quality, human resources, financial, strategic and clinical management of the department under the direction of the Nurse Manager. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in projects and improvement initiatives in alignment with the Infusion Pharmacy Quality Improvement team and Pharmacy department Strategic Plan. Members of the Infusion team include nurses, clinical support assistant, and medical assistants in partnership with other roles within the pharmacy department.
The Infusion Assistant Nurse Manager role carries additional responsibilities to include: direct support of clinical staff on site, assistance to the Infusion Nurse Manager, partnership and collaboration with the Infusion leadership team as well as internal and external partnerships. In addition, the Infusion Assistant Nurse Manager will be part of multidisciplinary collaboration across OHSU to include engagement with ambulatory nurse practice as applicable, as well as conducting safety assessments and audits at regular intervals to ensure nurses are provided safe practice environments.
The Assistant Nurse Manager maintains clinical competency in infusion nursing by providing occasional direct nursing care to support flexibility in daily operations and meeting certification requirements.Required prioritization of multiple projects, activities, and assignments.

- Works M-F 8 hour day shifts with expectation to field after hours calls from staff as needed
- Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and reliable transportation
- On site presence in support of clinical staff

- Repeated interruptions in an environment of frequent change and fluctuations
- May be exposed to excessive auditory and visual stimulation
- Accepts accountability and responsibility of the assigned work area.May be required to attend out of town conferences according to hospital travel and reimbursement policies.
- Subject to computer work for several as needed
- Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of internal and external customers including ensuring safe conditions for patients, families and staff.
- Exercises the ability to implement a flexible schedule to meet operational needs and to create work-life balance.
- Unencumbered Oregon RN License BLS for healthcare provider Specialty certification
- BSN or higher degree in nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant clinical with strong leadership experience such as charge nurse role.
- Certified Registered Nurse Infusion within 2 years
- 2 years of infusion experience, home health or ambulatory setting
